Fireworks, Family, & Fun!!!

I still don’t know how we did it but this weekend I managed to have eleven people stay at my house for the 4th. Eleven people!! My little 1700 sq foot house never ceases to amaze me. Way to go house! I just fell more in love with you :)

My entire family came up on Saturday and spent the 4th with us. It was such a treat! My neighborhood had a 4th of July ice cream social at our Gazebo and I couldn’t wait to take my nephews and niece. These events are always geared towards children and since dogs don’t count as children, we never get to go to. Plus, their claws might puncture the Bounce House if they tried to jump. (Ha! That just made me laugh thinking of Sam & Zena jumping around with a bunch of kids in the Bounce House.)

Here’s a few pics from the Cleveland Neighborhood Ice Cream Social. It felt like I stepped back into the 50's. It made me think of the movie Sandlot for some reason. Loved it!:

Bounce House!!


Rylee wouldn't stop bouncing in order for me to take a picture. She was having too much fun!


Of course, she had to get her face painted!

My Memoll took a rest with the boys under a large tree to watch the parade (yes, we even had a parade! All the kids decorated their bikes, scooters, and wagons and threw out candy. So cute!):

After the social, we went back to my house for some slip ‘n slide fun. Yes, this is the most pitiful looking slip ‘n slide you’ve ever seen. It was $7. You get what you pay for. But the kids didn’t seem to mind. They played on it for awhile while we all set on the porch and hung out.






Sammy wanted in on the action. She kept taking the floatie out the kids hands. Eventually, she punctured it.




Chaz loves when he gets the chance to hang out with Tristin and Peyton. He gets an excuse to be a kid again. We popped fireworks in our backyard. Shhh don’t tell the Fire Marshall.




After stuffing ourselves silly with Sonic burgers, hotdogs, peach cobbler, and every fruit you can imagine, we headed off to a fireworks show. Edmond, OK knows how to put on a show!!!!

Sunday morning, we all went to our church where they honored our local heroes. They brought military vehicles, fire trucks and police cars for the kids to enjoy. The kids loved this!




Needless to say, after the weekend came to a close, we were done for. (See the post below.) But it was all worth it. We had an awesome 4th with many memories made. Hope you all did too!
