I have reached the 2nd trimester “glory” period where I feel awesome. I have sooo much more energy and my appetite has increased dramatically. (Thus the half-eaten box of Samoa’s on my desk at work.) I still think I eat less than I used to pre-pregnancy (which really tells you that I eat a ton) but I’m snacking all day long which seems to do the trick.
I was at the Thunder Game on Friday night when I’m pretty sure I felt Little One move. It wasn’t a kick or jab but more like what a fizz in a Sprite bottle would feel like (is that even possible?) It started on my lower left hand side and made its way to the top of my belly button to my lower right side. It was the neatest feeling! Sadly it only lasted for about 5 minutes but I’m glad I got to feel it.
Little One this week:
“Speaking of packing on the pounds, that what it's all about for baby this week. He's adding fat stores that will keep him warm and cozy after he's born. Your baby's weight will increase approximately six times over the next four weeks. Also this week: Your baby is hard at work honing his sucking and swallowing reflexes—all the better for eating that 2 AM (and 5 AM, and 8 AM ...) meal in a few months! Fingers and toenails are beginning to grow from their nail beds, which would explain why he'll need them trimmed almost as soon as he's born! Your baby weighs nearly 5 ounces and is a little over 5 inches long—about the size of a baked potato.”
Mmmm…baked potato. That sounds really good right now…
Anyhoo, here I am at 17 weeks!

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
