9 week baby bump

I seem to wear lots of blues in these baby bump pics. Wonder if that's a sign?? :)

My next appointment is in about 2 weeks. I'm not going to get my hopes up for a sonogram but I sure would love to see and hear my baby again. Maybe I'll cry this time and my doc will order one? Ha!

Enough about me, here's a baby update at 9 weeks. Pretty miraculous if you ask me!

Your new resident is nearly an inch long (at my last sono, they said he/she was an inch and a half so beat that!) — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's/He's starting to look more and more human. Her/His essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do its tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Its eyes are fully formed (c'mon Chaz's eyes!), but its eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She/He has tiny earlobes, and its mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's/he's poised for rapid weight gain.

Can you believe that!? Teeth!? Hopefully it won't need braces. Those things are expensive.

This is just too cool to me! I get the biggest kick out of all the many, many things going on right now in my tummy.

Hope everyone has a Wonderful Wednesday!!
